Our Story

The serious wine guy, behind a not-so-serious wine brand.

Fergal Tynan, MW, caught the wine bug (no, not phylloxera) at an early age. In his teens (we won’t mention if it was his early or late teens) he was already identifying opportunities in his home country of Ireland to buy first-growth Bordeaux at bargain prices and resell them for a profit. Fast forward through a career working his way up through the wine industry, obtaining the prestigious Master of Wine designation, and heading up the well-known UK importer and distributor, Alliance Wine, Fergal identified the Roussillon in the south of France as an incredible area of opportunity.

As part of the project, Terres Fidèles, that he established, Félicette was created (with the help of Liz Donnelly) as an outlet for the fun, creative wines they wanted to make in the region.

The other cellar cats

Félicette, grew from the creative genius of the aforementioned Liz Donnelly – a wine expert and one of the most fun people for a night out in Glasgow.

On the ground, Fergal tapped Emmanuel Cazes – fourth generation winemaker in the Roussillon – to lead day-to-day winemaking and imported Rémy Moens from Silicon Valley for a bit of entrepreneurial spirit. Along with too many friends and partners to mention, the team works across the Roussillon to bring life (9 lives, to be exact) to the brand.

Fun bounds through our DNA, and Félicette is the fruit of the fun, exploration, and, of course, hard work that we put into our craft. We hope you enjoy the wines as much as we enjoyed making them!
